The BBFC is an independent company that was et up in 1912 to regulate and classify films. Films are given certain ratings depending on their content. The following ratings are given:

A film with a ‘U’ classification should be suitable for viewing form audiences aged four and over. This type of film should have a positive setting and should offer reassurance toany violence, threat or horror.

‘PG’ films should not be seen as disturbing to a child aged approximately eight or older. General viewing is classified however some of the scene may be unsuitable for much younger audiences, for this reason adults are advised to consider whether or not the content is suitable for child viewing.

‘12’ and ‘12A’ categories are awarded to a film where the material within the film is seen as suitable for those aged 12 and over. The ‘12A’ category only exists in cinemas, anyone under the age of 12 may see a ‘12A’ film if they are accompanied by an adult. ‘12A’ films are not recommended for those under the age of 12, however if an adult feels in their judgement that the film is suitable they may see the film.

No one under the age of 15 may see a '15' film in the cinema or rent or buy a film with this rating.

Anyone under the age of 18 is not permitted to view an '18' film in the cinema, rent the film or purchase it.

Filming Attempt 2

Today we filmed the shots that involved Hayley at location 2 - High Street Green. We filmed by abandoned house and church, and were very lucky with the lack of traffic.
We filmed between 12:30 and 1:30, and as the sun was relatively low in the sky, the shots were well lit with the lens flare creating shadows and eerily distorting images. Although we had originally planned to film later, to achieve a darker light, the atmosphere works well with emphasising the innocence of the character.
However, post-filming we incurred some difficulties. We discovered we had filmed on a 'dirty tape', which distorted and pixelated most of the shots. Due to this we will have to re-film some shots on Thursday. We will also bring a tripod, as zoom shots appeared very shaky.

Filming Attempt 1

Due to the time taken to create location 1, we didn't manage to get any filming done on Saturday 11th.
We are now planning to film all scenes involving Hayley tomorrow (14th December) during period 4 and lunch. Weather permitting (snow has been forecast), all shots of Hayley will be done by the end of the week, with stalker scenes commencing during the Christmas holidays. This way, all filming will be done and ready to be edited next term (4th January).

Location 1 - Stalkers Shed

In location 1 (the shed) we have stuck all the pictures of Hayley up on the back wall, scribbling out pictures of other people in black marker, and circling her in red marker to show that she is the point of focus.
The overhead lightbulb creates an early light and a dingey atmosphere, adding to the tension of the film.
We will add a shelf/table for the television, and a pin a sheet to the beam to hide the bottom end of the shed.

Preparation.

To prepare for filming, we have been taking pictures of the female character (Hayley) from a distance to give the photo's a 'stalkery' feel, and pictures from her Facebook page.

We also filmed Hayley walking around school, in POV shots to create the impression that she was being followed. We edited the film black and white, and tried to make it appear that it has been watched numerous times so that the quality is not very good, showing that the obsession has been growing for a long period of time.
The film will be played on an old tv in the shed, and will be subtle as the camera will not purposely focus on it.

Storyboard

This is the storyboard we are currently basing our Thriller Opening on, however when it comes to the editing process we may decide to change the order of the shots and maybe get rid of them completely.

thriller research

To gain insight in to our target audiences responses to thrillers, we are going to compile a questionnairre so that we can see what it is the audience want from our film.By doing this questionairre it will help as give the audience what they want to see.

above is the questionairre that we gave out to each group, so that we could see what other groups thought we should include in our film.
